Remember, EAT sheets are due Tomorrow... class on Monday will require you to have copies of these documents with you.

In a partnership, read these lines on your own. Discuss the following points, and post a brief response.

1. What has happened to the Turkish fleet?

2. Who is Montano?

3. Cassio describes Othello's wife in this scene. What compliments does he make, and why might this eventually bite him in the backside!

4. Iago has an Aside in this scene. How is Iago's aside significant in developing the plot at this point?

3. Cassio describes Othello's wife in this scene. What compliments does he make, and why might this eventually bite him in the backside!
He says that shes beautiful and that shes blessing Cyprus with her presence. It makes him look like he's hitting on her and that he's in love with her
4. Iago has an Aside in this scene. How is Iago's aside significant in developing the plot at this point? It shows that he's plotting to ruin Othello and make him regret for trusting him

1. What has happened to the Turkish fleet?
The Turkish fleet has been lost in a strom on their way to invade cyprus. Most likely the were all drowned at sea.

2. Who is Montano?
Montano is the govenor of Cyprus

3. Cassio describes Othello's wife in this scene. What compliments does he make, and why might this eventually bite him in the backside!
Desdemona has arrived in Cyprus and Cassio has greated her. He tell her that he is honoured that she has graced him and the other soldier with her presence. He tell her how beatiful and angel liek she is. To others this may seem as if he is hitting on Desdemona. If Othello gets word from someone that Cassio is trying to woo Desdemona Othello could turn on Cassio.

4. Iago has an Aside in this scene. How is Iago's aside significant in developing the plot at this point?
In Iago’s aside he explains what his plans are to get back at Othello. He plans to convince Othello that Cassio is hitting on Desdemona and that they are having a secret relationship.Othello will be forced in to trusting only Iago (the wrong person) and his relationship with those who truly care about him will be ruined. This aside shows how evil Iago is.
